New Business Hours & New Menu
Albuquerque, NM (February 8, 2016) – In 2015, you helped us celebrate our 50th anniversary. For one restaurant to exist for 50 years is a monumental accomplishment. This accomplishment can only be achieved through the unique relationship that we have with you, our friend and customer. We are so humbled that you continue to choose La Salita as the place that you consider your home away from home. We are honored that you choose our food over the competition, time and time again.
Our commitment to you in 2016 is to create new and exciting menu items, as well as create more opportunities for you to enjoy a delicious La Salita meal during your busy week. We are delivering on these promises beginning February 8th, and we want you to join in our excitement!
New Business Hours
Beginning February 8th, we will be open Monday through Saturday, 11 A.M to 9 P.M.! The most frequent feedback we receive is that we have “weird hours”. We acknowledge that our current business hours are not creating enough opportunities for you to enjoy a delicious La Salita meal throughout the week. We have listened and we’re making good on our promise to be more available for you.
New Menu Items
A couple of years ago, we began redesigned our menu, narrowing our offerings in an attempt to focus on the food that you wanted the most. We introduced new menu options to give you creative ways to enjoy our food. Continuing along these lines, we have some exciting new offerings that we can’t wait to share with you!
We have added Cups of Soup or Stew to the menu, allowing you the opportunity to enjoy a smaller portion of one of our heart-warming soups or stews along with your meal!
We are now offering the Frito Pie every day! Now you can enjoy our large bowl of crispy Frito Chips, whole pinto beans, ground beef, red chile and Queso at any time during the week.
We have added a new Enchilada Plate section where you can now create a plate with two or three enchiladas, rolled with the fillings of your choice, complete with your choice of sides.
We are now offering two Daily Specials:
- On Monday, our Huevos Rancheros Signature Plate is only $7.00.
- On Tuesday, our Frito Pie is still only $5.00!
Last but not least, we are now offering Desserts! We have three new dessert additions we know you will enjoy. Indulge with a Cyn-Ful Sopapilla, drizzled with chocolate-chile glaze, topped with whipped cream and a cherry. We created the unique Ice Cream Tostada, a scoop of vanilla ice cream on top of a tostada shell, sprinkled with cinnamon and sugar, drizzled with honey, and topped with a cherry. We also hope you will enjoy the Cinnamon Tortilla Crisps, two small flour tortillas fried to a crisp, then coated with cinnamon and sugar.
We are confident our new menu additions and changes will satisfy your taste buds in new and exciting ways at La Salita!
Due to cost increases with some of our ingredients, you will notice some prices of various menu items slightly increasing. We would rather increase prices, than sacrifice the quality of our ingredients, creating a sub-par product that you would not enjoy. However, we have also sourced other high quality ingredients at lower costs to us, enabling us to lower the prices of a few key menu items.
One of the decisions that we have spent many hours discussing as an ownership group, is the inclusion of sopapillas with your meals without charge. We have seen dozens upon dozens of untouched sopapillas wasted after meals. This is beginning to concern us.
In an effort to eliminate massive amounts of food waste, we have decided to no longer include sopapillas with every plate. If you choose not to enjoy one of our new delicious Cyn-Ful Sopapillas, Ice Cream Tostadas, or Cinnamon Tortilla Crisps, then you are able to purchase a fresh sopapilla for only $.25 each.
If you are accustomed to ordering a specific menu item as your "go-to" La Salita meal, and it has increased in price, we are confident you will benefit from our Little Room Rewards program.
When you join Little Room Rewards, you earn 1 point for every $1 you spend. When you earn enough points, you will unlock FREE FOOD! You will also receive discounts in your email inbox on a regular basis, further stretching your hard-earned dollar.
From the bottom of our hearts, we thank you for being our friend and loyal La Salita customer. Your passion for our food and service gives us the drive to work hard for you, each and every day. We hope you continue to choose La Salita as your New Mexican food destination for at least the next 50 years!

Local restaurant and Animal Humane New Mexico save lives with salsa.
Albuquerque, NM (April 30, 2015) – La Salita Restaurant and Animal Humane New Mexico are once again teaming up to help homeless pets. Now in its fifth year, the Salsa Saves Lives fundraiser was created by the owners of La Salita Restaurant to help homeless pets by donating $1 of every jar of La Salita Salsa sold during the month of May. Salsa Saves Lives has raised thousands of dollars for homeless pets in Animal Humane New Mexico’s care.
Last year, this successful event raised over $900 in jar sales and cash donations. The partnership between La Salita and Animal Humane New Mexico has been strengthening throughout the years. La Salita’s cash donation dog house continues to be one of the highest collecting boxes in the city for Animal Humane, demonstrating the helping nature of the restaurant’s customers.
La Salita Salsa is available for purchase at the restaurant, located at 1217 Eubank Boulevard NE. This year marks the first time jar sales from various retail locations are included in the fundraiser. “With the inclusion of grocery store sales, this year hopes to be our largest donation year yet,” states Erik Eddings, Director of Marketing and Partner of La Salita Restaurant. “We feel we have an opportunity to really make a difference in this community by doing our part to help homeless pets.”
La Salita Restaurant is a family owned and operated New Mexican restaurant, located in Albuquerque’s Northeast Heights. Both Animal Humane New Mexico and La Salita are celebrating their 50th Anniversary this year.
